JV reportedly set to test for Williams on Thursday
(Planet F1)
Jacques Villeneuve's future is looking more and more like a blue-and-white one after the Canadian press reported he'd be taking part in a test session with Williams later this week.
While F1's focus on Thursday will be on Germany, where the teams are preparing for the start of the European GP, Williams will reportedly be holding a private test for their former driver. The test, which could determine whether or not Villeneuve makes a return to the team in 2005, is believed to be taking place at the Miramas circuit in France.
Despite Thursday's session being Villeneuve's first run in an F1 car since leaving BAR prior to the 2003 season-ending Japanese GP, the 1997 Champion won't have much time in which to impress his former bosses. The F1 teams are only allowed to complete 50 kilometres of testing during a race week, which means the pressure will be on Villeneuve to perform.
Williams have yet to confirm or deny the Villeneuve test, however, have recently admitted to holding talks with him. Patrick Head confessed during the Monaco GP weekend that they had spoken with him, but wouldn't say what the outcome of those talks was.
